Penang in Kennesaw

I have been visiting Penang for the past 4 years or so and the food is undeniably good. But they have become greedy by introducing a new gratuity for a group of 4 or more. I went with my wife, 5 year old kid and a 1 year old baby. They still added it to my family, though the little one was just sleeping in her car seat. When I pointed to my baby and said how does she count, they just said “manager’s decision”. For a $20 meal the gratuity was around $5. Not worth it. Goodbye Penang

I've been eating here since I was in the 3rd grade and I'm coming into my second year of college now, I have had nothing short of amazing food and very attentive service each and every time I come in. The quality has not declined one bit over the years the way that MANY eateries around here have. The staff is incredibly welcoming and any complaints that a guest might have are addressed quickly and it has become evident to me that they care very much about the consumer experience. I've come in so frequently that the staff is familiar with exactly what I'd like and it has become a favorite spot to take all of my friends to because I know that it will be good, every time, in every aspect.

As a Malaysian living overseas I would recommend this place as quite authentic. I would say 70-80% there.

We lived in Singapore for over 10 years and visited Malaysia multiple times. After moving to Georgia we were on the hunt for an authentic restaurant. Not an easy task. We found Penang and fell in love with the authentic cuisine. They have so many dishes that we used to eat on a regular basis in Asia but could never find living here. The owners are so friendly and accommodating. They remember our family every time we come and what we love to order. My two personal favorites: roti canai and char kway teow. The menu is extensive so I know you will find something to love!

This is our favorite Malaysian restaurant, thanks to the wonderfully authentic dishes, comfortable atmosphere, and great service from staff who always make us feel at home.

I went here with my girlfriend, and all I can say is WOW. Penang is everything you could ask for: cozy, friendly, affordable and delicious. The food was far better than I could have expected. Amazing restaurant!

This place is very good. Roti Canai, Chicken Chow Fun, Cendol, Pulut Hitam all excellent!

First time there, and was happy with the awesome service and food. Eggdrop soup was so good. Took a friend there for her birthday, and they played happy birthday over the "radio/speaker" and brought ice cream with a candle. Prices were very reasonable.

Penang is amazing - we have been dining there for over 13 years and their staff, food, service and atmosphere is nothing but impeccable.

So good!!! I love this place. Staff members were excellent. I had the shrimp fried rice and it came out in minutes. Food was very tasty. I also had the wings which were also very good. Could have used a few more shrimp pieces but not a good reason to shy away from this dish. Overall restaurant was clean and it smells great when you walk in. Very large menu, lots to choose from.

One of the best Asian food in the neighborhood

This is by far the best Thai place in Kennesaw. Our favorite dishes are the Pad Thai and the Veggie Curry....and of course hot sake! We have tried other dishes too and everything has had great flavor. The staff is wonderful and they now know us because we have been going there for years.

Tasty food, reasonable prices and portions. Very friendly staff. Kid friendly place. The server was considerate and asked us before offering a lollipop to our son :)

My favorite Malasyan restaurant in Atlanta. I love the lamb shank. Perfect to share. Also, do forget to order their roti canal as the appetizer.

I ordered through Doordash and wow the Pineapple Chicken is SOOOOO good!!! They were very thoughtful in packaging the food, puncturing holes in the lids to prevent condensation. And they sent the pineapple chicken in the pineapple shell like it's served in the restaurant! I fully expected it to be left out since it was delivery. The portions are also quite generous. Both the pineapple chicken and the chicken fried rice that I ordered are enough for two meals each. I will be ordering from here again.

Very reasonable prices, friendly and timely service, pictures of pretty much every item on the menu, which helps a lot in making selections. The peanut pancake was delicious, too. They also have bubble tea.

The food is divine here in the lunch prices are really good and really affordable.

I've been visiting this restaurant since I was little! It's always incredible! Amazing staff and delicious food!! Eat here! You won't be dissapointed!

Great service! Huge selection of food choices. Ordered several dishes and all were delicious. Try the mango chicken, it's very good. The Thai ice tea is also quite good. Note there are no refills on sodas as they are sold by the can. The kids enjoyed feeding the fish in the koi pond out front.

Penang curry done in a hurry..vegetables not cooked properly..

Food was not good. No seasoning at all. Even for a curry, it was watery and tasteless. So disappointed, especially after the price.

The koi fish were cute. The food looked good. But the taste? Not so much. And the service? Even. Worse.

Many unique (exotic) menu items. We opted to try the Basil Chicken (safe) and Ranang Chicken (tad risky). We enjoyed both. We tried the very enjoyable Black Rice pudding with cream for dessert.

Really loved this place! The food choices were diverse, and the food was wonderful. The staff was attentive and friendly. I appreciated how kind they were to my kids, and without asking, they brought a paper plate and plastic utensils for my toddler. Prices were very reasonable. The pad see u was fantastic, it tasted like what I would get from a street vendor in Thailand.

Frozen, Bland......and did I say frozen? I’ve been a chef since 2006, and am always disappointed by the lack of care and discipline put into American restaurants food. The customer service clearly has the same lack luster attitude that the kitchen does. Every dish on the table seemed watery and bland to taste. All frozen ingredients. Shrimp-frozen, pork-frozen. Watery soup, cut, in order to stretch it out on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. You don’t have to have something “fancy” to impress me. You need to have taste buds, and basic knowledge of cooking.
